IM Antibiotics

Intramuscular (IM) antibiotic injections may be appropriate for certain bacterial infections when oral medications are not tolerated, rapid administration is clinically beneficial, or adherence concerns exist. Common conditions treated with IM antibiotics may include certain respiratory infections, sexually transmitted infections, skin infections, or other bacterial illnesses as determined appropriate by the evaluating provider. Our team performs a clinical evaluation prior to treatment to ensure the selected antibiotic is medically appropriate and safe for the patient.

Patients with severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, chest pain, rapidly worsening symptoms, severe dehydration, altered mental status, persistent high fever, or suspected sepsis should seek emergency medical care immediately, as these conditions may require hospital-level treatment and monitoring.
