Abscess Drainage
Skin abscesses are localized infections that often contain pus and can become increasingly painful, swollen, and inflamed if left untreated. Our providers perform incision and drainage procedures for appropriate abscesses in a sterile clinical setting, which may include local anesthesia, wound irrigation, packing placement, and antibiotic therapy when indicated. Prompt treatment can help reduce pain, prevent worsening infection, and improve healing outcomes.
Patients with rapidly spreading redness, severe swelling, uncontrolled diabetes, immunocompromised conditions, facial abscesses near the eyes, extremely large abscesses, high fever, confusion, or signs of sepsis may require emergency department evaluation or surgical management beyond the scope of urgent care.
