Foreign Body Removal

Accelerated Urgent Care is able to remove foreign bodies in most locations of the body, from the ear to the eye to the skin of the extremities. Your provider will inform you during your evaluation if you can be treated at the Urgent Care or you need a higher level of care.

Also, if the skin is penetrated you likely need a tetanus booster if not up to date within 5 years.

When to go to the Emergency Room:

  • If your child has swallowed something and they are drooling, vomiting or can’t breathe.
  • If you’ve swallowed a foreign body and are unable to keep anything down because it’s stuck.
  • If a foreign body has gone through your airway and you can’t breathe or you experience chest pain.
